Photoset 7 The last day in Spiti from Chandertal to Manali. A long day, Loz with no front brake and some of the toughest terrain with the road “fords” being 2ft deep and sometimes covering over 50m of the road. Our socks will never dry!!

Photoset 6 Again more photos of the crystal clear lake. Other photos are from our trip  to a local shepard’s party. We had mutton curry (awesome) and rice. We also tried their hookah pipe - sweetend tobacco and dung as coal. It was some good shit man!!

Photoset 5 These were taken at/on way too, Chandertal lake. A glacial lake at 4300m (see video on facebook for a better view!) We camped there for a couple of nights. Sleeping bag and liner came in very handy for a chilly night sleep.

Photoset 4 Most of these photos were taken at the dramatic Kee monastery, which like the rest, is ridiculously old. Stunning views into the valley. Also included is Loz having a go at welding my bike back together and a sign post for Hull!

Photoset 3 These were taken at the cliff-side monastery of Dankar. The monastery is built into mudstone and drastically in need of repair to save this 1500 year old relic.

Photoset 2 from Seinj to Manali. We met the woman at the deserted town of Nako in the 1000 year old monastery.

Sorry for the delays and the lack of communication. The following photosets (1-7) are from Seinj to Manali through the Spitti and Kinaur valleys. Ive lost a few pictures from Parvarti to Seinj through the Tirstan valley but I still have some and will put them up later so the order will be a bit disjointed. Anyway we had a great time, went to a glacial lake which was freezing cold but we took a dip anyway (see facebook for video), met some amazing people and had some awesome experiances. Anyway we are doing some repairs here in Manali for the next couple of days before we head up to Leh-Ladakh. Much love hamish x

PS lawrence has awesome wide angle shots of this part of the trip so check them out as he will be posting them over the next couple of days at chakdefatte.tumblr.com

Photoset 2 of walk.

Photoset 1 of walk from Kheerganga to Kalga via Bhun-Bhuni.

This is Kheerganga, both the the hot springs and also a small religious ceremony. The religious ceremony involved the taking of the gods to Kheerganga ( a 3 hour trek from the main road). The high priest and one other man (third photo) went into frenzies. In one of the high priest’s moments his traditional Kullu hat flies off his head only to be caught be the guy behind (bottom). We also joined in the dancing circle and the locals really warmed to us in the light drizzle. We also treked into the forest and stumbled upon a random Yemeni man who lives in a cave there and plays Sitar. Nice.
